Salesforce Summer ‘19 Release Notes

Salesforce has 51% of the CRM market share, and to retain its position as the best CRM solution in the globe, it needs to remain competitive. By updating its features seasonally, this gives their users more opportunities to expand their customer base and ultimately improve customer retention. This Summer, Salesforce have given us a wide range of new features that are sure to benefit businesses. With so many exciting features, we couldn’t list them all, but we’ve picked the best Salesforce Service updates that you definitely need to know about this Summer.

Choose from Two Record View Options

The Summer ‘19 Release now offers two default record page views. You can now choose between the current view (renamed ‘Grouped’ view) and a new ‘Full’ view. View all the related lists and details on the same page when you choose ‘Full’ view. If you’re transitioning to Lightning Experience, this view is similar to Salesforce Classic. This means that users can choose a view catering to their business needs, and make smarter business decisions.

Where can I find this?

You can find the two record view options in the Lightning Experience in Group, Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions. For those already using Lighting Experience, you can change your default view in Setup.

myTrailhead is rolled out

Available to the wider Salesforce community, myTrailhead is a free learning tool that gives companies the ability to create a culture of learning in the workplace. With the Summer ‘19 Release, users can now create the same skill-based, gamified learning experience as Salesforce Trailhead, using company content. Alongside this, you can also brand myTrailhead learning sessions with your company logo, banner image, and colours.

Because myTrailhead is seamlessly integrated into the Salesforce platform, it can be customised to suit the needs of your company – you can build customised learning paths that feature  the functionalities and processes that your business relies on.

This gives businesses the opportunity to automate and scale their onboarding process, as they can build a complete onboarding trail (process) that uses can easily access as soon as they are employed.

New Tools for Lightning Experience Transition

All organisations with the right permissions can switch to Salesforce Lightning Experience, and they’ve introduced a new range of tools that will make this transition much easier. Each new tool has a customisable prompt that will ensure your employees are engaging with these exciting new features in Salesforce. Some of these new features include:

  • The same record page runs users switch from Salesforce Classic to Lightning.
  • iPads can run the full desktop version of Lightning Experience.
  • List views and related lists get a revamp when Enhanced Related Lists is turned on.
  • Get more responses and send out survey invitations for free in Salesforce Surveys.
  • Search results reflect user navigation, helping you to find what you’re looking for with ease.

Where can you find this?

You can turn on  the Lightning Experience update under ‘Critical Updates’.

Collaborative Forecasts

The new Summer ‘19 release now gives forecast users an enhanced opportunity list. This means that sales quotas can now be managed and updated without Data Loader or the API.

Forecast Page

Alongside this, users can get more from the Forecast Page when they select the text wrapped in the opportunity list. They can now personalise their view through adjusting column width, and they can delete, edit and change owners of opportunities, without needing to leave the forecasts page.

Territory Forecasts Page

Territory forecasts are now available in a single-page summary view, showing the top-level territories that users are assigned to, in each branch of the territory hierarchy. There is also a drill down option for users to  see their assigned child territories and the other child territories of the top-level territories. Summary view for product family territory also makes it much easier to see the forecasts of multiple territories, rolled up to a product family total.

Celebrate When Path Users Reach Sales Milestones

Celebrating your team’s successes and victories is a great way to boost morale and improve employee retention. A new feature in the Lightning Experience and all Salesforce apps in Group, Essentials, Professional, Performance, Unlimited and Developer editions now means that you can congratulate and celebrate with your reps when they close deals on the road. When a rep reaches a designated Path stage, virtual confetti pops up on screen.

How do you do this?

Using the Path Settings in Setup, you simply select the picklist values that will trigger the confetti, and the frequency that they’re triggered.
