Introduction

Maber is an architecture, interior and landscape design practice with offices located across the Midlands in Birmingham, Leicester, Nottingham and Derby.

They were founded in 1983 and have an established reputation across education, sport, industrial, leisure, culture, residential, workplace, commercial and health sectors.

Their work includes new build, refurbishment and conversion projects, and in addition to their core design services of architecture, they offer a complementary range of ‘one-stop-shop’ supporting services, aligned to the commercial property sector.

The Project

Maber has been using Salesforce for a number of years and this project was an additional top-up piece to improve the Opportunity process.

The management team recorded all opportunities on a spreadsheet which needed to be automatically uploaded into Salesforce so that the senior management team had visibility over the team’s activities and an accurate pipeline. Zapier was already integrated with Salesforce but needed to be reconfigured to automatically match the Opportunities to the correct Accounts.

There was a concern that a lot of fields that had been created were not being used, and Maber was keen to understand which fields were being used and which were obsolete so they could work on an internal cleanup project.

 

The Solution

A flow was built that would create the Opportunity, and then look at the Account name and postcode to see if the Account already existed within Salesforce. If it did then the flow would automatically attach the Opportunity to that Account, and if not then a new Account would be created.

Purus provided the data and statistics around field usage for Maber to use internally.

The Results

Opportunity and project submission was streamlined and simplified, accurate data which in turn led to more accurate reporting and dashboards.
